È proprio la nostra alimentazione ad arrecare il danno maggiore. A far invecchiare la cute, per esempio, è l’eccesso di alimenti ricchi di zuccheri. Una ricerca, pubblicata sul «British Journal of Dermatology» , ha messo in evidenza come, dopo i 35 anni di età, la concentrazione zuccheri sia in grado di accentuare la presenza di rughe. Non pensiate che i danni siano solo esterni, perché favorisce anche l’artrite, l’insufficienza renale e il morbo di Alzheimer.
Quale dovrebbe essere la spiegazione scientifica? Gli zuccheri nel sangue favoriscono la formazione di prodotti dannosi, chiamati AGE. L’accumulo di queste sostanze porta al danneggiamento dell’elastina e del collagene, componenti fondamentali delle fibre che garantiscono solidità ed elasticità alla pelle.
È quindi importantissimo evitare gli zuccheri: ciò non vuol dire non mangiare carboidrati, ma non esagerare e soprattutto non fare il pieno di prodotti troppo raffinati. Ma voi usate sempre il dolcificante per il vostro caffè? In questo caso, evitate l’aspartame, allo zucchero bianco preferite quello di canna, oppure ripiegate su dolcificanti naturali come la stevia o l’amasake.
Inoltre, bilanciate gli zuccheri a tavola. Come si fa? In uno stesso pranzo non potete mangiare un piatto di gnocchi e un trancio di pizza. Calibrate sempre bene le vostre porzioni, anche se gli alimenti prescelti vi sembrano sani. La regola deve essere non esagerare.
