Soltanto a Dubai, Paese famoso per le sue ricchezze da mille e una notte, poteva accadere una cosa simile, la municipalità ha lanciato una campagna contro l’obesità davvero particolare: tutti coloro che decideranno di mettersi a dieta riceveranno un grammo d’oro per ogni chilo perso. Un’iniziativa veramente particolare e senza precedenti che, secondo le autorità del Paese, dovrebbe invogliare i cittadini a perdere peso.
Altro che il detto “vali quanto oro quanto pesi”, a Dubai è vero il contrario! A valere sono i chili persi. La campagna anti-obesità si intitola “Il tuo peso in oro” e a ricevere il premio saranno tutto quei cittadini di Dubai che dimostreranno di aver perso almeno due chili fino al 16 agosto.
La campagna indetta dalla municipalità di Dubai coincide, e non a caso, con il sacro mese del Ramadan, durante il quale i fedeli musulmani non devono né mangiare né bere dall’alba fino al tramonto, A differenza di quello che si potrebbe immaginare, i cittadini non dimagriscono, anzi ingrassano!
In realtà ciò non è strano: con il pasto che interrompe il digiuno le persone assumono molte calorie, così come nei vari spuntini notturni prima di iniziare nuovamente il digiuno diurno, dato che le calorie assunte di notte non vengono smaltite il giorno dopo.
Da qui l’iniziativa di invogliare la popolazione a non esagerare con il cibo, come spiega il direttore generale della municipalità di Dubai, Hussain Nasser Lootah:
Il mese di Ramadan è il momento migliore per lanciare quest’iniziativa perché ci aiuta a riflettere sui nostri stili di vita sbagliati. Perdere peso fa bene alla salute.
Coloro che hanno deciso di partecipare all’iniziativa devono pesarsi utilizzando delle bilance montate in alcuni parchi pubblici per monitorare il loro peso; i partecipanti sono seguiti da un team dietologi che si assicureranno che la perdita di peso non avvenga in modi pericolosi per la salute.
I tre vincitori riceveranno ciascuno una moneta d’oro del valore di circa 4 mila euro, mentre gli altri dovranno spartirsi un premio del valore di circa 40 mila euro: pensate solo se un’iniziativa del genere venisse promossa anche in Italia!
