Fico d’India, le sue proprietà dimagranti

I frutti dell’Opuntia Ficus indica, ovvero del fico d’India, possiedono diverse proprietà salutari, e sono utili sia dal punto di vista del benessere dell’organismo che nel processo di dimagrimento; numerose ricerche hanno mostrato come, il fico d’India, che cresce spontaneo nell’area mediterranea sia efficace per controllare il livello di colesterolo nel sangue, per curare il diabete e i disturbi gastrointestinali.

Una ricerca condotta in Messico ha rivelato l’utilità delle fibre contenute nel fico d’India in caso di diabete mellito, in quanto queste fibre sono in grado si ridurre l’assorbimento degli zuccheri; ovviamente anche chi non soffre di diabete può beneficiare di questa caratteristica di regolatore naturale della glicemia che possiede il fico d’india.

Il succo che si estrae dal frutto possiede proprietà lassative e diuretiche, mentre le foglie, oltre a contenere diverse fibre solubili e insolubili, sono ricche di minerali e vitamine. Come dicevamo all’inizio, il fico d’India aiuta a dimagrire soprattutto grazie a tre sue importantissimi proprietà: contiene le fibre solubili che servono a controllare l’appetito, regola l’indice glicemico e contrasta la stitichezza e i dolori addominali, in quanto facilita il movimento intestinale.

Se siete a dieta, il fico d’India è molto utile in quanto la presenza di fibre, soprattutto mucillagini, riesce a regalare un senso di sazietà che frena quindi, la voglia degli spuntini fuori pasto; il senso di sazietà è dovuto anche al fatto che le fibre riescono ad assorbire gli zuccheri. Le fibre contenute nei fichi d’India sono sia solubili che insolubili e sono utili anche per favorire il transito intestinale, rigenerare la flora batterica e prevenire l’insorgenza delle emorroidi.

Oltre a consumare i fichi d’India al naturale, potete beneficiare delle proprietà delle foglie, assumendo gli estratti sotto forma di compresse, chiamate opuntia o nopal; in genere la posologia è di due compresse mezz’ora prima dei pasti assunte con abbondante acqua.
