Pierre Dukan sembrava il signore incontrastato del dimagrimento. La dieta che porta il suo nome, la arcinota dieta Dukan, è stata infatti la più seguita e discussa di tutto il 2011. Un successo su scala planetaria che oggi appare destinato a tramontare in un mare di polemiche. Già da diverso tempo infatti gli stessi colleghi del nutrizionista francese l’avevano messa sotto torchio tacciandola di causare squilibri alimentari e, dunque, mettere a repentaglio la salute dei pazienti.
Ed oggi è arrivata la svolta: il dottor Dukan è stato radiato con disonore dall’ordine dei medici di Parigi, una decisione che lo stesso nutrizionista aveva chiesto fosse presa già lo scorso Aprile, forse nel tentativo di mettersi al riparo dai provvedimenti disciplinari a suo carico (che comunque non verranno sospesi).
Perchè Dukan è stato radiato dall’albo
I medici francesi accusano Dukan di aver violato il codice deontologico spinto da un’avidità smodata che lo avrebbe condotto a rendere dichiarazioni pubbliche giudicate imprudenti, a promuovere la propria immagine come un marchio e ad aver esercitato la professione medica come se si trattasse di un mestiere.
Come se non bastasse, la sua proposta di assegnare punteggi più elevati agli studenti che fossero riusciti a mantenere il peso nei due anni precedenti al diploma aveva suscitato un vespaio di polemiche e gli era valsa l’accusa di discriminare i giovani con problemi di peso e, cosa ancora peggiore, affetti da disturbi del comportameno alimentare.
Tuttavia, la vita professionale di Pierre Dukan non sarà certamente stravolta in seguito a questa epurazione: il guru della dieta iperproteica è in pensione già dal 2008 e non riceve nuovi pazienti limitando al massimo le consulenze.
Poco male visto che il suo libro, Je ne sais pas maigrir (Io non so dimagrire), pubblicato nel 2000, ha venduto oltre quattro milioni di copie solo in Francia.
