Come mettersi a dieta

Perdere peso non è solo una questione di cibo e di calorie: perché il metabolismo si sblocca solo quando tutta la nostra vita, nella sua globalità, ci spinge al cambiamento e alla ricerca di una nuova forma. Dieta: questa parola spesso richiama un’idea di rinunce, tristezza, lavoro in più in cucina, limitazione nei movimenti e nella socialità, malumore… Con queste premesse “pu­nitive” di certo non si va lontano. Stringeremo i denti finché riusciremo, ma sarà come tendere una corda al massimo: prima o poi si spezzerà e allora scatteranno le abbuffate compensatorie, i boicottaggi più o meno inconsapevoli e il conto alla rovescia per potersi permettere un piccolo strappo dopo tanti sacrifici.

Una dieta che faccia cambiare, per un tempo limitato, solo il nostro modo di mangiare non serve a nulla. Ecco perché, se hai intenzione di iniziarne una, o semplicemente di mangiare meno, il tuo programma dovrà prevedere un cambiamento a largo raggio, un mutamento di stile di vita che deve iniziare non dopo la dieta ma già mentre dimagrisci, se non ancora prima. Solo se la dieta cambia la tua testa potrà cambiar anche la tua forma fisica. E, per partire col piede giusto, programmiamo i nostri obiettivi.

Più la dieta è severa e più funziona: non è vero! Se avverti oppressione, senso di costrizione, scoramento, al 99% lascerai la dieta a metà; se invece ti metti a dieta con la sensazione predominante di ordine, pulizia e leggerezza, andrai avanti senza sforzo: vuol dire che è il corpo stesso che te lo richiede. Mettersi a dieta quando stai per separarti o sei infelice sul lavoro è controproducente: per cominciare una dieta hai bisogno di serenità, di tempo da dedicare a te stessa, di ottimismo e fiducia. Cogli al balzo l’occasione propizia quando le cose vanno abbastanza bene e non hai grossi problemi, e inizierai col piede giusto…

Prima di metterti a dieta cerca di individuare i tuoi alleati, le valvole di sfogo e le misure preventive da tenere “a portata di mano” nei momenti a rischio. La dieta ti toglie le consuete gratificazioni? Programmane altre: una serata alla settimana al cinema, un’amica che sia disposta ad ascoltarti, un’ora al giorno di musica, più attenzioni per te stessa… Ogni rinuncia dovrà essere compensata da piccoli premi sostitutivi capaci di distrarti dal cibo e darti piacere.
