Il vino rosso migliora la resistenza fisica

Il vino rosso non è solo uno dei piaceri della vita, ma fa anche bene. Certo, come in tutte le cose, motivo in più se si tratta di alcol, deve essere consumato con moderazione. Un nuovo studio firmato da un gruppo di ricercatori dell’Università di Strasburgo (Francia) e guidati da Valérie Schini-Kerth, oltre a confermare le preziose qualità di questo prodotto, ne mette in luce un nuovo aspetto: migliora le prestazioni fisiche anche in tarda età.

Il vino oltre a ridurre la disfunzione dell’endotelio (le cellule dei vasi sanguigni), aumenta le prestazioni nell’esercizio fisico anche a età avanzata. L’indagine è stata condotta sui topi cui sono stati somministrati i polifenoli.

Quello che sicuramente emerge (anche se in questo caso è stato letto in modo diverso) è la proprietà antiossidante di questo prodotto perché, per esempio, si sa che la funzione endoteliale, con gli anni, tende a diminuire gradualmente fino a predisporre all’insorgenza di malattie cardiovascolari (CVD). Parecchio tempo fa, proprio su Dietaland, infatti, avevamo detto che previene l’insorgere di ictus.

Il vino riduce lo stress ossidativo che inibisce l’enzima NADPH ossiadasi, che è collegato al processo di indurimento delle arterie e quindi a un elevato rischio di malattie cardiache. Dai risultati si evince, inoltre, che il ridotto invecchiamento cardiovascolare si è verificato nei gruppi di topolini che assumevano i polifenoli e in quelli che assumevano aponicina. Ma c’è di più. Quelli che assumevano queste due sostanze con il dosaggio più alto hanno dimostrato di avere una maggiore resistenza fisica sul tapis roulant. A tal proposito i ricercatori hanno commentato:

L’effetto benefico dei polifenoli del vino rosso è spiegato meglio dalla loro capacità di mantenere lo stress ossidativo nella parete arteriosa vecchia a un livello analogo a quello osservato nelle arterie giovani

Mi raccomando, bisogna sempre fare attenzione alle dosi: il vino fa ingrassare. È consigliabile non bere più di un bicchiere a pasto.
