Olio di semi di girasole, le proprietà

L’olio di semi di girasole, spesso impiegato nell le fritture, è poco conosciuto per le sue proprietà curative che lo rendono un prezioso alleato al servizio della salute.

L’olio di semi di girasole è ricco di acidi grassi insaturi, come l’acido linoleico (un acido della famiglia degli omega 6) e l’acido oleico (appartenente alla famiglia degli acidi omega 3), indispensabili per la produzione di energia, per il trasferimento dell’ossigeno dall’aria al sangue, per la sintesi di emoglobina, per la funzione delle prostaglandine e per il corretto equilibrio ormonale. Inoltre, gli acidi omega 3 aiutano a difendere anche il cervello dei disturbi da deficit di attenzione.

L’olio di semi di girasole è una miniera di vitamina E, ogni 100 grammi di olio, infatti, ne contiene ben 68 milligrammi. Il tocoferolo è la vitamina antiossidante per eccellenza, protegge i lipide delle membrane cellulare facendo piazza pulita dei radicali liberi. La vitamina E, infatti, è utile nella prevenzione di diverse patologie quali l’arteriosclerosi, il cancro e le malattie cardiovascolari. E’ indispensabile per il corretto funzionamento dei muscoli, ed è in grado di rafforzare il sistema immunitario. Inoltre, la vitamina E ha un’azione idratante e lenitiva, applicata sulla cute, infatti, rallenta il fotoinvecchiamento.

I semi di girasole contengono anche altre vitamine importanti per il benessere dell’organismo, come la vitamina B6, necessaria per la sintesi dei neurotrasmettitori e la formazione della mielina, una sorta di guaina che funge da protezione delle fibre nervose, l’acido pantotenico (vitamina B5), i folati e la niacina (vitamina PP O B3), fondamentale per per una corretta attività del sistema nervoso, per il mantenimento della salute della pelle e della lingua e per la formazione dei tessuti del sistema digestivo. E’ necessaria per la sintesi degli ormoni sessuali.

L’olio di semi di girasole, inoltre, contiene importanti sali minerali quali selenio, ferro, rame, fosforo, zinco, magnesio e manganese.
