Perdere peso solo respirando. Che sogno! Soprattutto pensando a quel frigorifero appositamente vuoto per tenere lontane le tentazioni. Non è totalmente un’utopia, perché c’è un nuovo metodo giapponese dimagrante che promette di regolare il peso corporeo facendo molta attenzione alla respirazione. Un attore del Paese del Sol Levante sostiene di aver scoperto una tecnica di respirazione tale da favorire il processo di dimagrimento.

Sembra un’idea bizzarra, ma ricordiamo che esiste anche la dieta del sonno (dormire fa dimagrire) e non è un’idea totalmente senza senso. È ovvio che questi metodi devono essere inseriti all’interno di uno stile di vita sano e soprattutto di una dieta bilanciata e ipocalorica. È bene quindi togliersi subito dalla testa, l’idea di perdere perso dimagrendo profondamente, ma capire in che cosa possa essere d’aiuto questo “scoperta”.

Il respiro che fa smaltire i chili è quello inserito all’interno di un’attività fisica studiata proprio per perdere peso. Serve quindi per accompagnare un allenamento aerobico in grado di potenziare l’attività e del cuore e della muscolatura. Su questo principio già si basano numerose discipline anaerobiche, come lo yoga e soprattutto il pilates, che sfrutta la respirazione diaframmatica per lavorare su alcune fasce muscolari.

Attenzione però non è oro tutto ciò che luccica: respirare profondamente e utilizzare il diaframma come foste dei cantanti lirici è un metodo che va imparato correttamente, altrimenti il rischio – secondo alcuni esperti – è quello di alterare l’equilibrio tra anidride carbonica e ossigeno, causando iperventilazione o dei veri debiti d’ossigeno. Risultato? Affaticamento, svenimento e anche vertigini.

Se quindi possiamo dire che la respirazione diaframmatica è sicuramente un ottimo modo per aiutare il corpo, durante l’attività sportiva, e quindi stimolare la perdita di peso, è giusto anche riflettere sui contro o i falsi contro. Non esiste quindi una reale dieta del respiro, semplicemente è necessario avere maggior controllo della propria respirazione, fare sport e seguire un’alimentazione di stampo mediterraneo o giapponese (ancor più light e ricca di pesce).
