Chi mangia poca carne è più magro oppure riesce e tenere meglio sotto controllo il proprio peso. A stabilirlo è uno studio condotto dall’Imperial College di Londra e pubblicato sulla rivista scientifica American Journal of Clinic Nutrition.
La ricerca è stata effettuata grazie all’ausilio di pazienti di 10 paesi europei, nello specifico 100.000 uomini e 270.000 donne, che sono stati seguiti per cinque anni; dallo studio è emerso che chi mangiava meno carne prendeva meno chili durante l’anno; invece, chi consumava molta carne aumentava di peso, in particolar modo coloro che assumevano grandi quantità di carne rossa, di pollame fritto e di preparazioni a base di carni grasse.
In particolare, gli uomini mangiano più carne delle donne, e quindi tendono ad aumentare di più di peso. I ricercatori hanno sottolineato come questo studio dimostri che una dieta a base di proteine non aiuti né a perdere peso né a prevenire l’obesità.
Per finire una curiosità: secondo la ricerca coloro che mangiano più carne sono gli uomini danesi, gli spagnoli, i tedeschi e gli svedesi, mentre i greci sono quelli che ne mangiano di meno.
