Sono anni che gli esperti di alimentazione consigliano di ridurre quanto più possibile i grassi e le proteine di origine animale. Ora per confermare ancora una volta questa tesi, riportiamo i dati di un recente studio condotto dai ricercatori dell’Università di Zurigo.

Lo studio ha monitorato per più 13 anni, circa mezzo milione di persone con un’età compresa tra i 35 anni ei 70 anni. I dati raccolti comprendevano il consumo personale di carne rossa, bianca e lavorata. Che cosa è emerso? Chi mangia circa 160 grammi al giorno di carne lavorata ha un rischio di morte più alto del 44 percento rispetto a chi ne mangia circa 20 grammi al giorno.

Durante gli anni di ricerca, ci sono stati più di 5 mila decessi per malattie cardiovascolari, quasi 10 mila sono morti di cancro e più di mille per malattie respiratorie. È stato evidente per gli esperti mette in relazione il consumo della carne lavorata e rossa (bovino, suino, equino e ovino) con il rischio di morte prematura.

I dati, infatti, hanno dimostrato che mangiare molte bistecche rosse aumenta del 72% il rischio di malattie cardiovascolari e dell’11% il rischio di cancro. Non si dice quindi di diventare vegetariani, ma almeno di fare un po’ più attenzione. Secondo i principi della Dieta Mediterranea, quest’alimento andrebbe consumato massimo una volta a settimana, a favore di due o tre porzioni, sempre la settimana, di carne bianca.

Capita spesso che la gente ripieghi sulla carne per pigrizia. È molto più facile grigliare una bistecca o mangiare una fetta di salame che preparare un minestrone. Attenzione però a non esagerare e a tenere controllato il proprio colesterolo con analisi annuali. Con la salute non si scherza e soprattutto è molto complicato tornare indietro.
