L’esordio in spiaggia di avvicina e siamo nel bel mezzo del nostro allenamento pre-vacanze a cui oggi vogliamo combinare la dieta veg per la prova costume. Si tratta di una dieta che è più uno stile di vita che si basa su un’alimentazione di tipo vegano per perdere peso, ridurre il colesterolo, migliorare la salute.
La consiglia la Lav che spiega come una dieta vegana sia la scelta migliore per la propria salute perché riduce il rischio di molte malattie cardiovascolari, abbatte radicalmente il numero di calorie assunte e al tempo stesso aumenta i valori di fibre e vitamine. Eliminando gli alimenti di origine animale inoltre si riduce il colesterolo.
Come si procede? Semplicemente sostituendo gli alimenti di originale animale con i corrispondenti di origine vegetale. Al posto del latte vaccino useremo il latte vegetale, per esempio di soia, di riso o di avena. In luogo dei latticini si sceglieranno formaggi e yogurt vegetali, disponibili ormai in molti supermercati con una sezione dedicata all’alimentazione vegana e nelle varie catene di alimentari bio. La carne si sostituisce con fonti proteiche di origine vegetale a base di tofu, seitan e legumi.
Non è vero, continua la Lav, che la dieta vegana rinuncia all’apporto proteico, si tratta solo di scegliere fonti alternative dello stesso nutriente rinunciando alle fonti animali. Lo stesso vale per latte e derivati perché il calcio, di cui sono fonte primaria, si trova in molti altri alimenti come le verdure a foglia, la frutta secca, i cereali e i semi oleosi.
Stando agli studi sull’argomento, inoltre, non c’è una maggiore incidenza dell’anemia tra vegani e onnivori. È questa una delle accuse che più spesso si muove alla dieta vegana, che è stata adottata con successo anche da molti sportivi di alto profilo come Carl Lewis e Serena Williams.
