Il tè è molto più di una semplice bevanda grazie alle sue proprietà uniche. Il tè, infatti, è ricco di polifenoli dalla spiccata azione antiossidante, che aiutano a contrastare la diffusione dei radicali liberi, i principali responsabili della degenerazione cellulare e dell’invecchiamento. Ma le sue virtù non finiscono qui, privo di calorie e di grassi, è un eccezionale alleato della prevenzione.

Proprietà del tè verde
I principali componenti del tè verde, una pianta usata dai cinesi da più di 2 mila anni, sia come medicinale che come rinfrescante, sono la caffeina (teina), gli aminoacidi, la vitamina C, le proteine, il ferro, il calcio, la vitamine del gruppo B, la teofillina, la teobromina, e i tannini.
Uno degli aspetti più interessanti del tè verde riguarda le sue proprietà anti-invecchiamento e antitumorale. Le percentuali di cancro al colon, seno, pelle, pancreas e stomaco sono estremamente basse tra i bevitori di tè verde. Anche il cuore trae enormi benefici da questa bevanda millenaria grazie alle sostanze antiossidanti che svolgono un’azione di prevenzione sull’infarto. Il tè verde ha inoltre proprietà rilassanti, aiuta a lenire il mal di testa, l’ansia e lo stress, e disintossicanti.
Il tè verde aumenta anche la velocità con cui l’organismo brucia i suoi grassi, grazie alle proprietà della catechina che favorisce la termogenesi. Per evitare di distruggere parte dei principi attivi contenuti nel tè, è consigliato per l’infusione non usare dell’acqua troppo calda. La temperatura ideale è di circa 80°. Il tempo di infusione, invece, non deve superare i 2 minuti.
Proprietà del tè rosso
Il tè rosso si ricava da una pianta di origine sudafricana, il Rooibos. Questa bevanda favorisce il processo digestivo e svolge una discreta azione antiossidante. Il tè rosso, usato da secoli dalle popolazioni Khoisan, che abitano il Sudafrica, ha un particolare sapore aromatico e a differenza del tè tradizionale non contiene caffeina. Questa bevanda contribuisce a ridurre significativamente il colesterolo. Inoltre, pare che il tè rosso stimoli l’attivazione dell’AMPK, l’enzima responsabile dell’appetito e del dimagrimento. Per quanto riguarda la preparazione, il tè rosso si ottiene come quello verde e nero, e sarebbe meglio berlo al naturale, al limite aromatizzato con un po’ di miele.
Proprietà del tè nero
Il tè nero è tipico dell’India e dello Sri Lanka. A differenza di quello verde, il tè nero deve le sue peculiarità al processo fermentativo cui viene sottoposto. Dopo la raccolta, infatti, le foglie fresche vengono dapprima essiccate, poi arrotolate su se stesse, quindi nuovamente essiccate ed infine macerate.
Il tè nero rappresenta la varietà di tè più ricca di caffeina. In una tazza di tè nero (150 ml circa), infatti, il contenuto di caffeina varia mediamente dai 40 ai 100 mg; un quantitativo piuttosto rilevante se si considera che un espresso ne contiene su per giù 80 mg.
Il tè nero è inoltre ricco di teofillina, una sostanza simile alla caffeina e utilizzata, anche se in concentrazioni nettamente superiori, nella terapia dell’asma e della bronchite. La teofillina, infatti, favorisce la dilatazione dei bronchi, migliorando anche la contrattilità del diaframma e degli altri muscoli respiratori. Per la presenza di questi princìpi attivi, l’infuso acquista proprietà stimolanti, eccitanti e diuretiche. Come le altre varietà di tè, quello nero è ricco di polifenoli, sostanze antiossidanti che aiutano a prevenire le malattie cardiovascolari, e di tannini, che abbassano la secrezione ghiandolare a livello intestinale risultando utili in presenza di diarrea.
