Attenzione ai grassi e agli zuccheri: possono provocare il cancro all’intestino

Siete amanti di cibi come dolci, patatine e bevande zuccherate? Se non volete farne a meno per la linea almeno state attenti alla salute. È questo il monito lanciato da un team di scienziati scozzesi autori di uno studio che dimostra come il consumo di cibi ad alto contenuto energetico e calorico sia collegato all’insorgenza di cancro al colon-retto o all’intestino.

Brutte notizie per colore che amano mangiare biscotti, dolci, bevande gassate e zuccherate e patatine fritte: questi cibi, già pericolosi per la linea in quanto ricchi di grassi, calorie e zuccheri, risulterebbero essere anche molto pericolosi per la salute, tanto da essere collegati alla comparsa del cancro intestinale.

L’allarme arriva da uno studio condotto da un gruppo di ricercatori delle Università di Edimburgo e di Aberdeen e pubblicato sull’European Journal of Cancer Prevention. La ricerca ha preso in esame le abitudini alimentari di oltre duemila persone affette da cancro intestinale e le ha confrontate con quella di individui sani.

Dall’osservazione dei dati raccolti è emersa una relazione, confermata da dati statistici, tra il cancro intestinale e l’elevato consumo di snack ad alto contenuto energetico, ovvero di tutti quegli alimenti ricchi di grassi e di zuccheri come, appunto, patatine fritte, dolci e bevande zuccherate. Traducendo in numeri quanto scoperto dal team di scienziati scozzesi si può dire che la probabilità di contrarre il cancro al colon-retto erano del 18 per cento se la dieta prevedeva un’alta assunzione di cibi ad alto consumo energetico e bevande zuccherate o gassate.

Insomma: se non per la linea, fate attenzione al consumo di questi cibi per la salute; che il consumo di grassi e zuccheri fosse dannoso già si sapeva ma alla luce di questo nuovo studio è necessario fare ancora più attenzione: uno strappo alla regola ogni tanto ci può anche stare, ma non deve diventare un’abitudine alimentare.
