Tanto atteso e finalmente aperto al pubblico, l’Expo 2015 è stato inaugurato venerdì 1 Maggio con una cerimonia che ha dato il via all’Esposizione Universale, ospitata dalla città italiana fino al 31 Ottobre sul tema “Nutrire il pianeta, energia per la vita.”

La cerimonia di apertura ha avuto luogo a mezzogiorno ma i cancelli erano aperti già dalle 10 del mattino. Molte le personalità che hanno presenziato all’avvio ufficiale dell’Expo 2015 durante il quale Milano sarà il fulcro di tutto il mondo sui temi dell’alimentazione e dell’agricoltura sostenibile.

Cos’è Expo 2015

L’Espozione Universale ha una lunga tradizione e rappresenta sempre una risorsa importante per un confronto internazionale a livello mondiale. I paesi partecipanti da ogni angolo del globo sono 140, 53 dei quali hanno costruito un proprio padiglione coinvolgendo il meglio del design, dell’architettura, della tecnologia e dell’arte.

Il tema dell’alimentazione è tanto problematico quanto sfaccettato e nel corso dei sei mesi a seguire ogni paese porterà a Milano la propria cultura, le proprie tradizioni e soprattutto le proprie soluzioni per affrontare la sfida dell’alimentazione del futuro: cibo per tutti, sano e rispettoso deell’ambiente.

I visitatori potranno scoprire quanto di meglio il pianeta Terra propone e i legami con le tradizioni dei diversi paesi, assaggiando direttamente sia le proposte più antiche che quelle più avveniristiche grazie ad un’interazione costante con il pubblico, non solo tecnologica.

I numeri di Expo 2015

La superficie espositiva è di 1,1 milioni di metri quadrati assegnati ai 140 paesi partecipanti e alle organizzazioni internazionali che hanno scelto di intervenire a vario titolo. Si attendono oltre 20 milioni di visitatori e 10 milioni di biglietti sono stati venduti già prima dell’inaugurazione.

Curiosità a Expo 2015

In deroga alle norme imposte dal ministero della Salute, è stato concesso nel solo perimetro dell’Expo di cucinare e servire il fugu, cioè il pesce palla che la tradizione giapponese ha imparato a preparare con estrema cura neutralizzando il suo veleno.

Lo Zimbawe potrà servire il coccodrillo e la Thailandia ha avuto il permesso di offrire scorpioni e larve al cioccolato. Nessuna concessione invece al consumo di carne di cane.

Per chi preferisce la pizza l’appuntamento è per il 21 Giugno: lungo il Decumano si tenterà di battere il record della pizza più lunga preparandone una da 1,5 km.

Eventi collegati

Non solo la fiera ma tutta la città di Milano è stata coinvolta nel fitto programma di eventi collaterali legati all’Expo 2015. Musei aperti con visite guidate speciale, laboratori creativi, mostre a tema, eventi musicali e artistici – si è cominciato con la Turandot di Puccini al Teatro della Scala – e ancora convegni sui temi dell’alimentazione e spettacoli esclusivi come quello del Cirque du Soleil creato appositamente per l’Expo e messo in scena ogni sera fino al 23 Agosto. E ancora illuminazioni speciali della città, mercati cittadini e manifestazioni sportive.
