Le diete tradizionali, spesso, si limitano a curare l’aspetto nutritivo del regime alimentare, trascurando quello psicologico della persona che lo seguirà: proprio il contrario della dieta olistica, che, invece, dà la massima importanza alla psiche. Secondo la disciplina olistica, per eliminare i problemi di peso e i disordini alimentari bisogna superare l’insicurezza delle persone in soprappeso, cercando di capire perché mangiano troppo e male.

Per compiere questo primo passo verso il dimagrimento è necessario tenere un diario alimentare sul quale appuntare quello che si mangia, in che quantità e in che momento della giornata, in modo da verificare il budget calorico giornaliero e il rapporto tra il cibo e gli stati d’animo.

Questo tipo di indagine viene effettuata dai dietologi sostenitori della pratica olistica, ma se siete dotati di particolare forza di volontà potete farlo anche da soli, soprattutto per rendervi conto di quali stati d’animo e momenti vi spingono a mangiare di più e peggio.

La dieta olistica non propone regimi calorici eccessivamente bassi, perché, altrimenti, il metabolismo reagirebbe bruciando meno grassi; i menù di questa dieta prevedono circa 2000 calorie giornaliere, distribuite tra una colazione abbondante, un pranzo atto a sostenere l’organismo durante tutta la giornata e una cena leggera.

Vanno inoltre seguite alcune linee guida in modo da favorire la perdita di peso, come: assumere un discreta quantità di cereali per far funzionare bene il fegato e l’intestino, mangiare molta verdura, anche cotta, purché preparata velocemente per non disperderne i principi nutritivi, preferite la frutta di stagione, perché è in grado di riequilibrare l’acidità dei tessuti e, quindi, di prevenire le intossicazioni. Assumere due cucchiai di semi di girasole, perché aiutano a combattere i radicali liberi e i processi infiammatori; bevete molta acqua lontano dai pasti e, infine, evitate il più possibile il consumo dei cibi raffinati e in scatola.
