In realtà non esiste una vera e propria dieta specifica per chi è affetto da psoriasi, però è noto che seguire un’alimentazione sana ed equilibrata, come quella indicata dalla dieta mediterranea, aiuta chi soffre di questa malattia, soprattutto per migliorane l’andamento e prevenire le riacutizzazione.

Dieta e psoriasi, gli alimenti consigliati

Gli alimenti consigliati per chi soffre di psoriasi sono il pesce, soprattutto quello di mare, ricco di Omega 3 e Omega 6, il riso, la frutta e la verdura fresche, in particolare carote e albicocche, ricche di betacarotene, una sostanza amica della pelle; via libera anche ai cereali integrali, in quanto un’alimentazione ricca di fibre fa bene anche alla pelle, dato che contribuiscono a regolarizzare l’intestino e, quindi, ad evitare l’accumulo di sostanze tossiche.

Per condire prediligete l’olio di oliva a crudo, però senza superare la soglia dei due cucchiai al giorno; bevete tanta acqua per mantenere la pelle idratata e prediligete gli alimenti freschi e ad alto contenuto di liquidi; sì alla carne ma con moderazione.

Chi soffre di psoriasi dovrebbe inserire nella propria alimentazione alimenti ricchi di vitamina B5, una sostanza in grado di contrastare l’invecchiamento della pelle, la fragilità delle unghie, stimolare la crescita dei capelli e favorire la cicatrizzazione; la vitamina B5 si trova nei cereali integrali, nella crusca, nel pesce, nei legumi, nel latte e nei molluschi e nella frutta secca.

Consigliata anche l’assunzione di selenio, un minerale importante per mantenere la pelle elastica e per combattere i radicali liberi; anche il selenio, come la vitamina B5, si trova nella carne, nel pesce, nel latte e nei molluschi, oltre che nelle cipolle e nelle verdure verdi. E’ importante, inoltre, bilanciare correttamente l’apporto di tutti i nutrienti, grassi, proteine e carboidrati, evitando di eccedere a favore di una di queste categorie; allo stesso modo vanno evitate le diete squilibrate e quelle fai da te.

Al contrario, gli alimenti sconsigliati nella dieta per chi soffre di psoriasi, o che per lo meno vanno ridotti, sono i cibi elaborati e ricchi di grassi saturi, quelli conservati e preconfezionati e i piatti speziati; attenzione anche pane, pizza e dolci con farciture e farina bianca e ai formaggi fusi. Da evitare anche gli alcolici e la birra: l’abuso di alcool e molto pericoloso per chi soffre di psoriasi, dato che peggiora la malattie e altera la sicurezza della terapia.

Dieta e psoriasi, gli stili di vita

Per chi soffre di psoriasi è molto importante seguire anche uno stile di vita sano, quindi, oltre ad evitare gli alcolici sarebbe indicato anche non fumare, dato che il fumo fa male alla pelle e può scatenare, nei soggetti predisposti, l’insorgere della malattia o aggravarne il decorso per chi è già stato colpito.

Ansia e stress influiscono sulla psoriasi, quindi, chi ne soffre dovrebbe riuscire a ricavarsi dei momenti nei quali rilassarsi e mettere in atto delle strategie antistress. In questo senso è altamente consigliata una regolare attività fisica, soprattutto di tipo aerobico, come nuoto, corsa o bicicletta, in modo da contribuire a migliorare le condizioni metaboliche e a ridurre lo stress.
