Coriandolo, i benefici

Il coriandolo è un ingrediente molto importante di diverse cucine, tra le quali quelle mediterranee. Non è amato da tutti, ma può essere un toccasana per alcune problematiche.

Coriandolo contro i problemi gastrointestinali

Ovviamente dobbiamo usarlo nel modo giusto e nelle dosi consigliate, onde evitare di stare male o crearci dei disturbi causati dall’eccesso di consumo. Il coriandolo fa parte della famiglia delle Ombrelliferae ed è originario dei Paesi del Mediterraneo. Le sue foglie sono piccanti e apprezzate in particolare nella parte orientale del mondo, tanto da essere chiamato anche prezzemolo cinese. Nella zona mediterranea tendiamo a consumarne più i frutti, simili al pepe, macinati.

I benefici del coriandolo sono diversi e perfetti per prenderci cura dei nostri problemi gastrointestinali. Grazie al suo essere antispasmodico, stomachico e carminativo è un ottimo rimedio naturale contro il gonfiore, contro le coliche addominali e le difficoltà digestive. Perfetto per condire piatti di diverso genere è anche ottimo consumato come tisana. O come infuso digestivo. La ricetta base prevede 2 grammi di semi di coriandolo in 100ml di acqua bollente da far riposare per qualche minuto. Un paio di cucchiai dopo i pasti aiuteranno a digerire e a eliminare i gas intestinali.

Il coriandolo aiuta anche a stimolare l’organismo, favorendo l’appetito e attenuando il senso di fatica. È conosciuto per essere un ottimo tonico per il sistema nervoso e per l’attività cerebrale. Senza contare le sue doti antibatteriche e antimicotiche. Si tratta quindi di un ottima spezia o verdura fresca da aggiungere ai propri piatti.

Conosciuto fin dall’antichità

Storicamente parlando, parliamo di una pianta molto conosciuta. Plinio il vecchio, ad esempio, suggeriva di mettere dei semi di coriandolo sotto il cuscino per evitare mal di testa e febbre. Se siete intenzionati a coltivarlo dovete ricordare che può avere influenza sulle piante circostanti. Rafforza infatti piante come l’anice e fa soffrire ortaggi come il finocchio.

Il suo nome deriva dal latino Coriandrum, che discende dalle parole corys, che in greco significa cimice e ander, che significa somigliante. E questo dipende dal fatto che, prima della maturazione dei frutti, la pianta odora similmente alle cimici. Quindi in modo sgradevole. Messe da parte queste note di colore, va sottolineato che se gradito al gusto il coriandolo non fa male alla salute.

Se consumato nel modo giusto aiuta a digerire e stimola l’appetito e la forza.  Ci consente quindi di stare bene. Prendiamolo in considerazione come aggiunta alla nostra dieta, sia fresco che macinato. Soprattutto se soffriamo di aria nella pancia o difficoltà di digestione.
