La tisana di cardo mariano con i semi della pianta si prepara così: versate due cucchiaini di semi di cardo mariano in una tazza insieme a 150 ml d’acqua quasi bollente, lasciate riposare per un quarto d’ora e poi filtrate. La tisana di cardo mariano è ottima per il fegato, e va bevuta tre volte al giorno mezz’ora prima dei pasti per tre settimane.

La preparazione della tisana di cardo mariano con la parti essiccate si prepara quasi come quella con i semi: unite mezzo cucchiaino di pianta essiccata e tritata e una tazza d’acqua bollente, fate riposare per dieci minuti e poi filtrate; bevetene due o tre tazze al giorno.
Tintura di cardo mariano
Se soffrite di calcoli alla cistifellea usate la tintura di cardo mariano; fate macerare per dieci giorni 20 g. di semi tritati in 100 ml di alcool al 60%; trascorso il tempo di macerazione filtrate e assumete 20 gocce fino a tre volte al giorno.
