La dieta che seguiamo può avere un ruolo determinante nella nostra espressione genica; fino ad oggi sapevamo che i geni che ognuno di noi possiede sono in grado di, per così dire, “predire” il nostro destino. Adesso sappiamo che esistono una varietà di fattori che possono influenzarli e tra questi c’è anche la dieta.

Capita a tutti, nel corso della vita, per tutta una serie di motivi, di vedersi attivare i geni cosiddetti cattivi: in questo caso, per neutralizzare questi geni entra i campi la nutrigenomica, la disciplina che ci aiuta a trovare sostanze nutritive per vivere meglio.

Esiste una prova che, con un campione di saliva, svela cosa abbiamo ereditato dai nostri antenati e quali comportamenti si possono adottare per vivere meglio. Con un semplice test è possibile ottimizzare la dieta per stare meglio.

Esistono sei mutazioni genetiche che suggeriscono cosa includere nell’alimentazione per migliorare la propria salute: scopriamole nel dettaglio.

Mutazione MTHFR: in presenza di questa mutazione è bene aumentare l’assunzione di felati e, quindi, di lenticchie, avocado, asparagi e arance.

Mutazione MTRR: indica il bisogno di un’integrazione di vitamina B12

Mutazione BCM01: indica una carenza di vitamina A che è possibile integrare con carote, pollo, burro e olio di fegato di merluzzo.

Mutazione VDR: in questo caso la sostanza che manca è la vitamina D, pertanto è consigliabile mangiare alimenti ricchi di questo nutriente ed esporsi spesso alla luce del sole; migliori risultati si ottengono assumendo, allo stesso tempo, la vitamina K.

Mutazione PEMT: indica una carenza da colina, un nutriente essenziale per la salute del sistema nervoso e delle membrane cellulari; in questo caso è consigliabile consumare uova, noci, verdure e fegato di manzo,

Mutazione CYP1A2: attenzione all’assunzione di caffeina, in quanto chi possiede questa mutazione spesso soffre di insonnia dopo aver bevuto caffè; pertanto, limitate la caffeina solo al mattino e associatela all’assunzione di grassi e proteine.
