Intolleranti al lattosio? Non rinunciate ai latticini

Buone notizie in arrivo per tutti gli intolleranti al lattosio: secondo una ricerca del National Institute of health, anche chi non tollera latte e formaggi non deve più privarsi di questi alimenti, per non rischiare carenze nutrizionali, basta che non esagerare nelle quantità. Le persone intolleranti al lattosio, lo zucchero presente nel latte, non hanno un enzima che serve a digerirlo, ma secondo gli esperti autori della ricerca:

Eliminare completamente latte e latticini dalla dieta, come molti pazienti credono sia necessario per evitare i disturbi, espone a carenze nutrizionali e deficit che alla lunga possono avere conseguenze sulla salute. I latticini sono i cibi più ricchi di calcio e vitamina D, privarsene significa mettere a rischio la salute delle ossa e non solo, visti i tanti studi che dimostrano l’importanza della vitamina D nella prevenzione di moltissime malattie.

Anche gli esperti italiani, come la dottoressa Antonella Muraro, responsabile del Centro di Riferimento Regionale per lo Studio e la Cura delle Allergie e delle Intolleranze alimentari del Dipartimento di Pediatria dell’Università di Padova, confermano i risultati delle ricerche effettuate dagli studiasi americani, come il fatto che la maggior parte degli intolleranti al lattosio può assumere una tazza di latte senza soffrirne i sintomi; solo nei casi più gravi possono manifestarsi dolori addominali e diarree.

Tuttavia, sempre secondo gli esperti, anche in questi casi si può seguire un percorso di parziale introduzione di latte e latticini, anche somministrando l’enzima necessario per digerire il lattosio.

Secondo gli esperti, per tutti coloro che non soffrono di sintomi gravi pur essendo intolleranti al lattosio, ci sono alcuni accorgimenti per assumere comunque il latte e i suoi derivati, come preferire quello scremato o parzialmente scremato, che andrebbe bevuto a stomaco pieno e, quindi, accompagnato da uno snack, e mangiare yogurt e parmigiano, quest’ultimo quasi sempre accettato anche dagli intolleranti al lattosio.
