I diverticoli sono alterazioni della mucosa intestinale che interessano il tratto di colon che congiunge il retto con l’intestino discendente; i segnali che indicano la presenza dei diverticoli sono: addome gonfio, teso e con dolori, stipsi e fastidi al momento dell’evacuazione.

La diverticolite colpisce in prevalenza più le donne che gli uomini, soprattutto coloro che soffrono di stitichezza e che hanno superato i 50 anni d’età, perché i sintomi peggiorano con il tempo, arrivando addirittura a provocare fenomeni di fermentazione batterica che causano dolori addominali acuti, accompagnati da qualche linea di febbre e da evacuazioni sempre molto dolorose. Per evitare di arrivare a stadi particolarmente fastidiosi dell’alterazione, bisognerebbe rivolgersi, fin dai primi sintomi, ad uno specialista, cioè al gastroenterologo.

Non esiste una dieta anti-diverticolite, ma per cercare di attenuare il problema, si può ricorrere ad una serie di norme alimentari che possono essere d’aiuto. Contrariamente a quanto si pensa, l’apporto di fibre vegetali va controllato; la dose giornaliera di frutta da consumare non dovrebbe superare la quantità di 450 grammi, evitando quella più zuccherata come l’uva, i cachi e i fichi.

La verdura deve essere consumata cotta, e sarebbe opportuno evitare cipolle, broccoli, cavolfiori, verze e broccoli, perché tendono a produrre gas intestinale, al contrario, via libera ai legumi assunti sotto forma di purea; alimenti da consumare con moderazioni sono: il latte intero, i formaggi grassi e le paste lievitate. Semaforo verde per i piatti semplici, poco speziati e a base di amidi; sì anche alla pasta corta, al brodo, sia di carne che vegetale, e alle proteine della carne e del pesce.

  1. Nella dieta alimentare per i diverticoli è importante una masticazione prolungata? Si puo’ mutilizzare ogni tanto il peperoncino nel cibo ?, visto che è un antibiotico naturale. Grazie
