Perdere peso con un percorso psicoterapeutico: cambiare le proprie abitudini

E’ ottobre: che cosa ha da offrirci ottobre di diverso dagli altri mesi che sia possibile utilizzare per o migliorare il nostro rapporto col cibo?  La calma, la stasi energetica che precede la fase di ab­bandono dell’inutile. Come in natura, gli alberi iniziano a liberarsi delle foglie per arrivare al minimo consumo energetico che permetterà la sopravvivenza invernale, così noi possiamo prepararci ad entrare in una dimensione diversa di vita e di dieta. Ci lasciamo alle spalle un periodo probabilmente intenso per la ripresa lavorativa, per i nuovi impe­gni e progetti che tipicamente vengono presi a set­tembre, e siamo già stanchi.

Ecco che il cibo si af­faccia nel nostro immaginario come oasi di piacere, di ricarica e di trasgressione. La spiegazione  sintetica, ma intensa descrizione di ciò che il cibo può rappresentare è questa:

“Tutto ciò che non fac­cio è un boccone che alla fine mangio… quante parole trattenute… quante carez­ze non fatte… quanti schiaffoni non dati… quanto sesso man­cato … quante azioni rimanda­re… ed il cibo rimane l’unico mezzo per sentirsi ancora vivi… l’unico segnale per accorgerci in qualche modo di voler assa­porare la vita. Tutti prima o poi arriva­no a comprendere che il perdere peso non è una questione di calorie, ma la conseguenza di un cam­bio di rotta esistenziale. Allora fermiamoci a riflette­re, in sintonia con la chiusura di un ciclo naturale, su come “chiudere” anche il nostro vecchio stile di vita. Cambia rotta e sbarazzati di vecchie abitudini.”

Molte persone  lo hanno fatto già l’anno scorso, durante un percorso psicoterapeutico: sistematicamente, per un mese, ogni mattina si sono domandati con quali eventi potevano rendere più piacevole la loro giornata e ogni sera valutavano quanto avessero mantenuto le promesse. Se poniamo il nostro benessere al primo posto delle cose da realizzare non ci lasceremo sfuggire l’occasio­ne di urlare, gioire, accarezzare, fare l’amore, lasciarci incuriosire dal nuovo e così via. A questo punto il cibo sarà solo una delle tante fonti di piacere, il meta­bolismo brucerà a mille e il nostro peso si aggiusterà da solo sino a realizzare la “nostra” forma perfetta.
