La paleodieta si è guadagnata la “fascia” di regime dietetico più popolare del 2014… negli Stati Uniti è di moda già da diverso tempo, ma a quanto pare sembra aver conquistato anche l’Italia. La dieta s’ispira al modello paleolitico, quando i cavernicoli cacciavano le prede e soprattutto raccoglievano bacche e noci.
Secondo gli ideatori di questa dieta, infatti, l’uomo 10mila anni fa era in armonia con l’ambiente e non soffriva di obesità, tumori e malattie cardiovascolari. L’analisi dei resti ossei ritrovati dagli antropologi e lo studio delle popolazioni che vivono in modo preistorico, infatti, consentono di affermare che i cacciatori-raccoglitori del Paleolitico superiore godevano di buona salute. Il degrado è iniziato a partire dall’epoca del Neolitico, 10mila anni fa, con l’avvento dell’agricoltura.
Chiaramente, la dieta paleolitica, dando ampio spazio ai vegetali (frutta e verdura di stagione, noci e semi), ma anche alle carni magre, al pesce, alle uova ed escludendo i cereali, i cibi zuccherati, i latticini e i prodotti industriali (ma anche i legumi!) può portare a qualche vantaggio, almeno nel breve periodo, ma a lungo andare, oltre a risultare frustrante, può favorire l’insorgere di disturbi del comportamento alimentare.
Per fare un esempio, a colazione si possono mangiare uova alla coque e lamponi; a pranzo pollo o carpaccio di manzo, insalata, pomodori e uova o avocado al limone, frutta di stagione e a cena salmone o altro pesce, spinaci o broccoli, mandorle o noci. Di buono la paleodieta ha forse il fatto di eliminare i cosiddetti cibi spazzatura, che certamente non sono un toccasana e fanno ingrassare rapidamente, per il resto è un’altra dieta come tante, costosa e rischiosa per la salute.
