Dieta Flexitariana buona per salute ed ambiente

Una dieta flexitariana? Potrebbe non solo dare modo alle persone di stare in salute e perdere qualche chilo ma al contempo prendersi cura del nostro pianeta evitando sprechi e dando vita ad un ridotto impatto ambientale.

Tutto attraverso il taglio del consumo di carne e formaggi può aiutare a proteggere la Terra e la salute. E’ uno studio recentemente condotto negli Stati Uniti a suggerirlo: insomma, far calare il consumo di quelle due classi di alimenti riuscirebbe a migliorare non solo le analisi del sangue e la linea delle persone ma potrebbe davvero aiutare il nostro pianeta a vivere di più. Hanno spiegato i ricercatori:

Le diete delle persone hanno un minore impatto ambientale, inteso come impronta di carbonio, quando consumano minori quantità di carne rossa e formaggi, che al contrario contribuiscono a una maggiore emissione di CO2 e a un più alto apporto di grassi saturi, e consumano più cibi salutari come pollame, cereali integrali e proteine vegetali.

Si tratta di uno studio al quale prestare attenzione, visto che sottolinea come in questo modo si possa inquinare di meno e fare bene alla nostra salute. Non si richiede infatti lo stop del consumo di carne quanto una diminuzione sensibile ed una sostituzione in caso della tipologia di proteine animali: al posto di carne di rossa viene consigliato consumare più uova e fagioli. Tornando alla ricerca, gli esperti hanno studiato i dati sulle emissioni di CO2 generate dalla produzione degli alimenti in relazione al consumo calcolato in un periodo di 24 ore: i vari regimi alimentari sono stati suddivisi in 5 gruppi, a seconda delle emissioni prodotte per ogni 1000 calorie, e a loro volta confrontate con i valori di riferimento secondo lo US Healthy Eating Index.

Attezione però: in caso di regime flexitariano bisogna accertarsi di assumere le giuste dosi di ferro, calcio e vitamina D.
