Le ciligie hanno un sapore squisito, ma soprattutto hanno proprietà nutritive considerevoli. Sono diuretiche, dissetanti, e ricche di preziose vitamine. Inoltre, grazie alle fibre danno un senso di sazietà e fungono da blando lassativo.

Le ciliegie sono per l’80% composte da acqua, sono ricche vitamina A e C, e di sali minerali quali magnesio, potassio, ferro, calcio, sodio e fosforo. Inoltre, sono un frutto indicato anche per chi soffre di diabete, poiché contengono il levulosio, uno zucchero ben tollerato che non richiede l’intervento dell’insulina.

Le ciliegie sono una miniera di flavonoidi, note sostanze antiossidanti in grado di combattere i radicali liberi e di rallentare il processo di invecchiamento dei tessuti cellulari. Come accennato all’inzio, la ciligia ha proprietà depurative e disintossicanti, inoltre, le vitamine, in combinazione con i flavonoidi, stimolano la produzione di collagene, importantissimo per la salute della pelle. Questo frutto tipicamente estivo contiene anche l’acido malico, che favorise la digestione degli zuccheri e l’attività epatica.

Le varietà di ciliegie sono davvero molte, quelle che vengono coltivate principalmente nel nostro Paese sono la ciliegia Bigarreu, più precoce nella maturazione e si trova in vendita già dalla prima metà di maggio; la ciliegia Durone, a detta di molti la migliore, con polpa compatta e turgida, dal gusto particolarmente dolce, e di grosse dimensioni, matura a giugno; la ciliegia Ferrovia, maturano sempre a giugno e hanno una polpa molto succosa; la ciliegia Marca, hanno una polpa molto compatta e sono usate soprattutto per la preparazione di conserve, e la ciligia Anella, dal colore acceso e dalla polpa croccante, si trovano già alla fine di maggio.

Ciliegie calorie

Le ciliegie sono indicate anche per segue una dieta dimagrante, grazie al loro potore saziante e all’effetto diuretico. Ogni 100 grammi di prodotto hanno un apporto calorico di 38 Kcalorie.
