Anche se la cellulite viene spesso definita un inestetismo, si tratta di una vera e proprio patologia, che richiede la supervisione di uno specialista per evitare errori grossolani. Tra gli sbagli che più di frenquente si commettono quando si decide di seguire il “fai-da-te” sono proprio le diete ferree, nell’erronea convinzione che con il peso scompaia anche l’inestetismo. Tuttavia, con una dieta ipocalorica drastica si rischia di perdere anche il muscolo, dunque la massa magra, e la cellulite può addirittura acutizzarsi, perché i tessuti cutanei si afflosciano se il muscolo sottostante non li sostiene.
Inoltre, è molto importante la prevenzione. La cellulite, infatti, inizia a comparire intorno ai 18-20 anni e difficilmente sparisce da sola, anzi, con il tempo in genere tende solo a peggiorare.
Secondo la Gilardino, l’unico modo per risolvere il problema della cellulite è abbinare ad una dieta personalizzata, la costante attività fisica e trattamenti estetici mirati.
