Per rimettersi in forma dopo le feste si ricorre soprattutto a diete dimagranti e disintossicanti che promettono di perdere velocemente i chili presi a causa degli stravizi natalizi. Se rimettersi in riga ed eliminare i cibi più grassi è giusto, non aspettatevi miracoli dalla sola dieta: affinché funzioni è necessario affiancarla ad un po’ di attività fisica e, perché no, “aiutarla” con metodi naturali, ovvero ricorrendo alle tante proprietà di alcune piante e ai benefici dei loro estratti, cioè gli oli essenziali, soprattutto quelli dall’azione depurativa.

Gli oli essenziali vengono estratti da alcune piante e possiedono diverse proprietà benefiche come quella antisettica e antibatterica; inoltre, a seconda della pianta dalla quale vengono ricavati, hanno diverse azioni specifiche come quella depurativa, anticellulite, rilassante oppure levigante per la pelle o, ancora, sono in grado di agire su alcuni apparati specifici come quello respiratorio, quello digestivo oppure sono utili per il sistema nervoso o venoso.
Gli oli essenziali possono essere assunti per via interna o esterna, diluiti in acqua o tisane oppure usati per fare impacchi, creme o massaggi. Oggi vediamo alcuni dei principali oli essenziali dalla forte azione depurativa, ovvero mandarino, petitgrain e limone, utili anche per aiutare la digestione messa a dura prova dagli stravizi festivi, e per stimolare la circolazione e, quindi, per combattere la cellulite.
Olio essenziale di mandarino
Il mandarino, che insieme alle arance è stata il frutto più diffuso nella tavola delle feste, è anche l’ingrediente per un ottimo olio essenziale che si ricava dalla buccia del frutto tramite spremitura a freddo dalla quale si ottiene un liquido dall’intenso e dolce profumo agrumato.
L’olio essenziale di mandarino possiede proprietà digestive, antisettiche e depurative; è utile per facilitare la digestione, combattere l’insonnia, soprattutto quella dei bambini, ed è l’ideale nella cura della pelle grassa e dell’acne. L’olio essenziale di mandarino è efficace anche contro la cellulite, per migliorare la circolazione e per prevenire le smagliature: basta usarlo con costanza per effettuare massaggi nelle zone interessate.
Olio essenziale di petitgrain
Molto spesso, dopo un periodo di feste e di ferie, veniamo assaliti da momenti di tristezza e di sconforto, soprattutto alla ripresa delle normali attività quotidiane, per contrastare questi stati di malinconia si può ricorrere all’olio essenziale di petitgrain; quest’olio essenziale viene ricavato dalle foglie, dai rami e dai frutti acerbi dell’arancio amaro, ed è utile per combattere la depressione, allontanare pensieri negativi e tristi, a curare l’emicrania da nervosismo e recuperare le forze durante la convalescenza.
Essendo un essenza dalla forte azione calmante è utile anche in caso di insonnia: un bagno caldo con qualche goccia di olio essenziale di petitgrain allontanerà il nervosismo e vi aiuterà a prendere sonno. L’olio essenziale di petitgrain è utile anche per curare le impurità cutanee: un impacco per il viso a base di petitgrain aiuta a regolare l’azione delle ghiandole sebacee e quindi a combattere acne ed altri difetti cutanei.
Inoltre, l’olio essenziale di petitgrain è ideale anche per regolare la digestione e attenuare i disturbi di stomaco: basta aggiungere ad una tisana alle erbe, va bene anche una semplice camomilla, due gocce di petitgrain e un cucchiaio di sciroppo d’acero per stare subito meglio.
Olio essenziale di limone
La medicina popolare attribuiva al limone molte proprietà e la capacità di curare un gran numero di malattie soprattutto quelle infettive, e infatti l’olio essenziale di limone è utile per alleviare mal di gola, gengiviti e stomatiti, acne, vene varicose, per curare dolori reumatici, per contrastare la pressione alta e per stimolare la circolazione, pertanto è utile anche contro la cellulite.
Per favorire la digestione, sicuramente più lenta in questo periodo, ma anche per contrastare l’acidità di stomaco e la sgradevole sensazione post indigestione, diluite un paio di gocce di olio essenziale di limone in un bicchiere di acqua tiepida e vi sentirete presto meglio.
