Una sana alimentazione è il primo passo per un’ottima salute e molti alimenti ci possono aiutare e tenere sotto controllo l’ipertensione. Molti alimenti infatti hanno una notevole funzione diuretica, aiutano a smaltire i liquidi in eccesso e bloccano la pressione alta. La dieta ideale per la pressione alta è la cosiddetta dieta Dash (Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension).

> LA DIETA PER ABBASSARE LA PRESSIONE

Si tratta di una dieta molto simile alla dieta mediterranea, con l’unica differenza che bisogna ridurre ( o addirittura eliminare del tutto) il sale. Il punto fondamentale è tenere basso l’apporto di sale, che nella dieta Dash è stato fissato a 2 grammi al giorno.

Via libera a frutta e ortaggi da abbinare a 30 grammi al giorno di fibre. I grassi sono limitati, ma si possono consumare formaggi magri e carni bianche, pane e pasta, sempre sconditi o con poco sale. Particolare attenzione va fatta non solo al sale che aggiungiamo alle pietanze ma anche al sale che assumiano attraverso alcuni cibi che lo contengono. Il menu tipo prevede 50 grammi di pane, oppure 40 grammi di pasta o di riso. E’ importante alternare le tipologie di proteine ogni giorno: pesce, carne, poi latticini. Vietate le bevande gassate, i dolci e i grassi.

Un recente studio italiano ha spiegato che riducendo di due grammi la propria razione quotidiana di sodio si abbassa del 23% la possibilità di ictus e del 17 di tutte le malattie cardiovascolari. Se si riesce a consumare al massimo 2 grammi di sale al giorno c’è una diminuzione del rischio di infarto del 10% per i giovani sotto i 34 anni, e di più del 10% tra i 45 e i 54 anni. Il rischio di ictus viene ridotto del 7 per cento.
