E’ arrivata la tanto sospirata estate e adesso l’obiettivo principale per molte signore (ma anche tanti signori!) è quello di avere una bella tintarella, uniforme, dorata e senza screpolature o peggio macchie antiestetiche. Sempre più spesso si ricorre ad unguenti, spray, olii protettivi e creme specifiche per raggiungere il bel risultato. Ma non solo! Per avere una bella abbronzatura è importate un utilizzo costante di frutta e verdura  ricca in carotenoidi (antecedenti della vitamina A), che, stimolando la produzione di melanina, favoriscono la pigmentazione della pelle.

Oltre a questo, mangiare regolarmente frutta e verdura di colore giallo-arancio ci aiuta a difendere il nostro organismo dai raggi del sole. Abbiamo fatto una classifica degli alimenti con più vitamina A e al primo posto ci sono le immancabili carote con 1200 microgrammi ogni 100gr. Seguono gli spinaci e il radicchio che contengono circa 700 milligrammi di vitamina A; poi le albicocche e ancora la lattuga, il melone giallo, peperoni , pomodori, sedano, fragole, pesche gialle e ciliegie, che hanno anche’essi alti livelli di carotenoidi.

Il bello di questi alimenti è che anche ad alte temperature tengono inalterate le loro proprietà e le loro vitamine, diversamente la vitamina C è molto sensibile al calore; i carotenoidi invece supportano benissimo le cotture e quindi anche d’inverno potete fare una bella scorta di carote cotte! Inoltre secondo una recente ricerca inglese queste verdure indurrebbero nella pelle l’aumento del protocollagene una molecola capace di rinforzare l’epidermide.

Per assorbire pienamente le sostanze contenute basta anche mangiarli abbinati ad un filo di olio extra vergine d’oliva, considerando anche che è estate e di cucinare ci va molto poco! Se invece non vogliamo rinunciare alla classica pasta un bel piatto di spaghetti al pomodoro ci gratificheranno il palato ma il licopene presente nel pomodoro contribuirà a proteggere la pelle dalle scottature dei raggi uva.
