Dieta mima digiuno o dieta del digiuno intermittente, negli ultimi anni le diete che prevedono giornatedi digiuno alternate a giornate di alimentazione regolare sono diventate sempre più trendy. Tendenze e mode, appunto, e non veri stili di vita sani, almeno secondo quando rivela l’ennesimo studio scientifico.
Si tratta di una ricerca pubblicata su JAMA Internal Medicine secondo la quale la dieta del digiuno a giorni alterni potrebbe essere più difficile da seguire di una dieta quotidiana a moderata restrizione calorica e, in generale, non è più efficace per far perdere peso e prevenire malattie cardiovascolari.

I ricercatori hanno analizzato l’andamento della dieta di 100 persone obese o in sovrappeso per valutare se la dieta del digiuno fosse più efficace rispetto a una tradizionale dieta a restrizione calorica. Nello studio, chi è stato sottoposto a una dieta tradizionale doveva assumere il 75% delle calorie che di solito consumava prima della dieta, mentre chi ha seguito la dieta intermittente doveva consumare il 25% e il 125% delle calorie a giorni alterni.

Alla fine della dieta entrambi i gruppi hanno consumato in totale le stesse calorie, distribuite in modo diverso nel corso del tempo. Dopo sei mesi, i componenti di entrambi i gruppi avevano perso il 6% del loro peso corporeo a dimostrazione del fatto che non c’è grande differenza di dimagrimento tra le diete del digiuno e quelle tradizionali. Inoltre anche valori come la pressione sanguigna, i trigliceridi e l’insulina non erano molto diversi.

Una differenza che invece i ricercatori hanno sottolineato sta nel numero di partecipanti che hanno abbandonato la dieta. Il 38% di quelli che seguivano la dieta mima digiuno ha rinunciato prima di portarla al termine, mentre solo il 29% del gruppo di controllo l’ha abbandonata. Chi seguiva la dieta intermittente era anche più propenso a sgarrare mangiando troppo nei giorni di magra e troppo poco negli altri giorni.
