Esagerare con la dieta mette a rischio le ossa

Tutte le donne che pur di perdere peso e poter vantare linea perfetta sono disposte a sottoporsi a regimi alimentari troppo rigidi devono stare molto attente. Sembra che seguire una dieta troppo rigorosa aumenta il rischio di osteoporosi. Uno studio realizzato da un team di ricercatori dell’organizzazione non governativa inglese National Osteoporosis Society ha recentemente dimostrato come le diete troppo restrittive mettano a rischio la salute e la fragilità delle ossa, aprendo la strada all’osteoporosi.

La ricerca ha evidenziato che la fragilità delle ossa è direttamente collegata al tipo di alimentazione, alla quantità di cibo che si assume e all’equilibrio dei pasti. Una donna su sei che segue una dieta molto stretta, senza saperlo, corre il rischio di fratturarsi un’anca. I ricercatori hanno inoltre intervistato molte donne affette da osteoporosi, scoprendo che oltre il 54% delle donne intervistate ha livelli di vitamina D nel sangue inferiori rispetto alla norma, mentre il 95% ha confessato di consumare una quantità di latte e latticini inferiori alle dosi giornaliere raccomandate dai nutrizionisti.  E’ inoltre risultato che le donne che nel tentativo di perdere  peso seguono regimi alimentari sbagliati sono giovanissime, dai 18 ai 25 anni circa, e rischiano di avere l’osteoporosi precocemente, ovvero all’età di 30 anni. Molte donne che seguono una dieta dimagrante, infatti, saltano la colazione ed eliminano i formaggi, riducendo così il livello di calcio dell’organismo.

E’ però importante ricordare che tutti gli squilibri alimentari fanno male allo scheletro. Anche una dieta priva di proteine compromette la densità minerale dell’osso. Anche le cure a base di cortisone o farmaci antiepilettici e le malattie infiammatorie intestinali o la celiachia, spesso non diagnosticate, possono aumentare il rischio di osteoporosi. E’ meglio quindi perdere peso lentamente, mantenendo in questo modo i risultati ottenuti pìù a lungo, e non avere ripercussioni sulla salute che dimagrire in poche settimane e aumentare il rischio di avere l’osteoporosi.
