Il diario alimentare aiuta a dimagrire

Quando ci si mette a dieta la cosa più difficile è rispettare il regime alimentare scelto e non sgarrare; partendo dal presupposto che per riuscire servono motivazione e forza di volontà, un aiuto per mantenere i buoni propositi può arrivare dal diario alimentare, sul quale annotare tutto quello che viene mangiato.

A confermare l’utilità del diario alimentare ci pensano i medici, e in particolari quelli dell’Università del Kentucky e del North Carolina, che hanno effettuato uno studio congiunto sull’argomento pubblicato sul Journal of Nutrition Education Behaviour.

Secondo i medici che hanno condotto questa ricerca, forza di volontà e autocontrollo sono importantissime per condurre la dieta nel modo migliore, inoltre:

I soggetti a dieta che annotano quello che mangiano e bevono ogni giorno, hanno maggiori probabilità di portare a termine con successo il proprio programma alimentare, basandosi sulla forza della propria volontà e sul proprio autocontrollo.

I ricercatori sono arrivati a questa conclusione dopo aver analizzato per 16 settimane 66 donne in sovrappeso divise in due gruppi chiamati motivazione controllata e motivazione autonoma; le donne spinte da motivazione autonoma, che avevano anche scritto il diario, hanno raggiunto maggiori successi rispetto a quelle che invece erano state controllate da altri.
