L’acne è una delle dermatosi più diffuse in adolescenza ma può presentarsi anche in età adulta. Si manifesta sul viso con l’iniziale comparsa di punti neri che, come dei veri e propri tappi, ostruiscono le ghiandole sebacee. I batteri, infettando le parti occluse, danno il via all’infiammazione e alla comparsa di pustole gialle.

Spesso, questa dermatosi ha una causa di origine ormonale; perciò se l’acne è persistente o si manifesta su una parte estesa del viso, è meglio rivolgersi ad uno specialista. In ogni caso è sempre bene curare la dieta e combattere la stitichezza e lo stress psico-fisico.

I cibi che è bene evitare se si soffre di acne sono: cioccolato, dolci, insaccati, alimenti fritti e bevande zuccherate; al contrario si possono consumare liberamente: cereali, olio d’olia, yogurt, verdura, frutta, pesce e carne magra. È importante anche assumere delle vitamine, soprattutto quelle A, C ed E, perché nutrono e rinforzano la pelle; è bene evitare anche di schiacciare i brufoli, perché si corre il rischio di espandere l’infezione.

Un valido aiuto nella lotta contro l’acne viene anche dalle erbe mediche dalle proprietà disintossicanti e riequilibranti. Per depurare il fegato e pulire la pelle grassa sono efficaci bardana, tarassaco e carciofo, assunte separatamente o insieme con 30 gocce di tintura madre due volte al giorno. La viola del pensiero è la più efficace grazie alla sua azione depurativa, antinfiammatoria e decongestionante; va usata in tintura madre con 30 gocce due volte al giorno, oppure con un decotto lontano dai pasti. Cinquanta gocce di betulla prese al mattino assicurano un veloce smaltimento delle tossine.

Spesso, contro i batteri si ricorre a lavaggi frequenti e aggressivi, così la pelle si difende e, per riequilibrarsi, produce più sebo alimentando il proliferare dei batteri e l’infiammazione; quindi, per lavare il viso è bene unire al sapone neutro due o tre gocce di essenza di timo bianco, limone o bergamotto. Giova anche l’estratto dell’albero di tè da aggiungere a creme, tonici e cosmetici.

Per ottenere una maschera riequilibrante, mescolate due cucchiaini d’argilla, due di yogurt naturale e acqua distillata, unite tre o quattro gocce di essenza di lavanda, camomilla, geranio, rosa o arancio dolce (hanno proprietà lenitive) e stendetela sul viso; dopo venti minuti risciacquate. Infine, picchiettate il viso con un batuffolo di cotone imbevuto in un infuso di fiori e foglie di malva, bardana, viola del pensiero o calendula; aiuta anche il gel derivato dalle foglie di aloe.
