Il Cardiolates è un nuovissimo allenamento che viene dagli Stati Uniti, e che è approdato da pochissimi mesi in Italia, studiato per eseguire un lavoro fisico di tipo aerobico senza però sottoporre a uno sforzo traumatico la colonna vertebrale e le articolazioni: in pratica è l’unione di Pilates e aerobica.
Il termine “Cardio” del programma indica proprio questo: durante l’allenamento il corpo raggiunge e supera la “soglia cardiovascolare aerobica”, cioè arriva a svolgere uno sforzo elevato e costante che determina un forte consumo di calorie e di grassi localizzati. Con il Cardiolates di riesce a svolgere un’attività aerobica brucia grassi senza la necessità di lavorare in carico, alleggerendo la colonna vertebrale e le articolazioni di anca, ginocchia e caviglie dai microtraumi della corsa o della camminata.
La caratteristica particolare del Cardiolates è quella di associare due attività diverse come il Pilates e l’aerobica, tramite il rebounder, un tappeto elastico circolare su cui si salta per quasi tutto il tempo della lezione, e che è capace di fornire una risposta elastica omogenea in ogni punto di rimbalzo, e di assorbire l’impatto dei piedi, evitando traumi e stress per le articolazioni. Grazie a questo attrezzo si possono bruciare fino al 50% di calorie in più rispetto ad altre attività cardio e al tempo stesso salvaguardare il benessere dell’apparato muscolo-scheletrico.
La lezione di Cardiolates viene proposta nelle principali palestre,con una durata di 55 minuti; è in genere consigliato un abbigliamento attillato, come un paio di fuseaux e una canottiera, per poter controllare se si eseguono movimenti sbilanciati o asimmetrici.
