La dieta dei dosha, come funziona

La nuova tendenza tra le diete del momento si chiama dieta dei dosha e si fonda su un approccio molto diverso da quello che siamo abituati a conoscere. Dimenticate le diete tradizionali che eliminano, riducono, combinano gli alimenti secondo procedure sempre diverse ma senza allontanarsi troppo da una concezione tradizionale. La dieta dei dosha si ispira alla bio-energia.

Si basa sulla combinazione dei dosha che governano il corpo umano: vata, cioè l’aria; pitta, cioè il fuoco; kapha, l’acqua e la terra. Secondo la tradizione ayurvedica indiana questi tre elementi energetici influiscono sia a livello spirituale che a livello fisico sul nostro stato mentale e corporeo.

Per mantenere il corpo nello stato ideale, e dunque controllare anche gli squilibri di peso, è importante che i tre dosha siano mantenuti in perfetto equilibrio. Di solito la causa principale di un aumento di peso è l’eccesso di energia kapha, quella più terrena.

La dieta dei dosha è abbastanza semplice da seguire anche se inizialmente ci si può scoraggiare sentendo parlare di equilibri energetici e piani spirituali. Non si contano le calorie e non è necessario pesarsi, ci si concentra invece su alimentazione sana combinata a respirazione e meditazione.

I pasti devono essere leggeri, asciutti e caldi, limitando il consumo di cibi crudi come frutta e verdure che spesso abbondano nelle diete classiche ma che l’ayurveda considera difficili da digerire.

Bisogna bere molto ma optando per acqua tiepida o calda e molte tisane alle erbe, da consumare tutto il giorno. È meglio bere lontano dai pasti per non appesantire la digestione. Le porzioni devono essere piccole, non si deve mangiare troppo tardi la sera prima di dormire.

Vanno inoltre drasticamente evitati cibi troppo salati, cibi troppo dolci e tutti i latticini mentre sono da prediligere alimenti come quinoa, grano saraceno, mais. Si può abbondare con spezie, zemi di zucca, girasole e sesamo.
