Molti sono alla fine delle vacanze, ma per alcuni la paura di scottarsi è ancora elevata, soprattutto per coloro che hanno la pelle tanto chiara. I ricercatori della Rutgers University (New Jersey) hanno scoperto che un valido aiuto per proteggere la cute può arrivare dalla caffeina.
Come sappiamo i raggi solari svolgono un’azione pericolosa, perché favoriscono la formazione di melanoma e il danneggiamento del collagene, accelerando l’invecchiamento cutaneo. Questa ricerca, testata su modello animale, può cambiare le carte in tavola e favorire la produzione di creme e filtri solari di nuova generazione. La cosa più importante però sta nel fatto che potrebbe nascere una nuova cura per prevenire il classico e pericoloso tumore della pelle, purtroppo sempre più diffuso anche in giovane età.
Attenzione, non vorrei che questo post fosse ingannevole: continuate a mettervi la vostra crema. Non basta, infatti, bere un caffè per essere al riparo da scottature. Nello specifico la caffeina agisce su un gene (ATR), creandone una carenza tale da proteggere o da ritardare dagli effetti negativi del sole. Gli esperti hanno quindi dedotto che la caffeina potrebbe avere un effetto inibitorio del cancro indotto proprio dalla luce del sole. Intanto, mentre aspettiamo che la scienza compia i suoi passi in avanti ricordiamo alcune regole basilari per proteggerci durante l’esposizione.
Prima di tutto non andate mai fuori senza protezione. Ciò vuol dire che andrebbe messa anche in città. Inoltre, riapplicate la crema ogni due ore o dopo aver fatto il bagno. Recatevi in spiaggia solo nelle ore più fresche quindi entro mezzogiorno e dopo le 15 del pomeriggio. Se vi è possibile riparatevi con un ombrellone, un cappello o dei vestiti leggeri affinché i raggi non siano diretti. Mangiate molta frutta e bevete in quantità per mantenervi idratati. Infine, aiutatevi con qualche integratore per prevenire l’eritema solare.
