Secondo quanto emerso dal primo rapporto Coldiretti/Censis sulle abitudini alimentari degli italiani, il 37% degli abitanti del Bel Paese vorrebbe mangiare bene ma non ci riesce: di questi il 40,5% ha un’età compresa tra i 30 e i 44 anni e oltre il 40% sono donne, nel 43% dei casi casalinghe. Quasi il 33% degli italiani dichiara invece di seguire una dieta sana; tra questi si trovano soprattutto anziani (40,3%) e laureati (37,6%). Il 43% di noi d’altra parte è in sovrappeso e l’11% obeso.
Tuttavia, sempre secondo i dati del rapporto Coldiretti/Censis, questa situazione, per certi versi sconfortante, non è il frutto di disinformazione: quasi il 62% degli intervistati dichiara infatti di essere
molto informato sui valori nutrizionali, le calorie e i grassi riguardanti i vari alimenti
Nel 51,1% dei casi queste informazioni vengono ricercate e ottenute proprio sul web, mentre solo il 34% degli italiani si rivolge a quotidiani, settimanali e periodici, il 25,5% a familiari ed amici (25,5%) e il 25,6% ai negozianti e al personale del punto vendita per saperne di più su ciò che porta in tavola.
Quanto ai fattori che influenzano le scelte alimentari di ciascuno di noi, il 34% degli intervistati ritiene che queste siano principalmente frutto delle proprie caratteristiche soggettive, il 30,4% le ha ereditate dalla propria famiglia, mentre un 19% sceglie cosa portare in tavola in base al proprio budget.

Dal rapporto emerge una importante segmentazione dei comportamenti, con oltre 1/3 degli italiani che riconosce il valore dell’alimentazione e si comporta di conseguenza, 1/3 che per stile di vita, tentazioni e stress, pur consapevole, non riesce a comportarsi correttamente e 1/3 che non è attento alla tavola per mancanza di conoscenza.
Su quest’ultimo segmento occorre responsabilmente lavorare in un Paese come l’Italia che non può più permettersi di dare per scontata la qualità del cibo portato in tavola come avveniva nel passato, quando gli effetti della globalizzazione non erano così rilevanti.
