Arriva inaspettato un aiuto dagli omega 3 contro la pressione alta: lo afferma una recente indagine scientifica che il ricercatore Mark Filipovic, dell’Università di Zurigo, ha presentato nel corso delle ultime American Heart Association’s Scientific Sessions 2016.

La ricerca ha dimostrato che una dieta ricca di omega 3, elementi contenuti soprattutto in alimenti quali noci, avocado o salmone, può fornire un aiuto notevole nella battaglia contro la pressione alta, e ciò è particolarmente vero nelle fasce di età più giovani.

Lo studio ha esaminato un totale di 2.036 giovani adulti e sani rilevando la presenza e la quantità di omega 3 nel sangue e correlandole con una serie di misurazioni della pressione arteriosa. I partecipanti allo studio sono poi stati suddivisi in quattro gruppi sulla base di questi valori, separandoli sulla base dei diversi livelli di omega 3 nel sangue.

Il risultato ha dimostrato che chi ha livelli più alti di omega 3 può vantare anche livelli di pressione arteriosa più bassi, sia per quanto riguarda la massima che relativamente alla minima. La ricerca non dimostra ancora l’esistenza di un rapporto causa effetto diretto tra i due dati ma lascia supporre che un maggiore consumo di omega 3 può avere una correlazione importante con il mantenimento della pressione bassa, sicuramente sotto livelli di guardia e tra la popolazione più giovane.

Questo piccolo traguardo rappresenta una tappa importante per gli scienziati e per far proseguire le indagini in merito, ma anche per tutti noi consumatori che siamo incentivati da un motivo in più ad arricchire le nostre diete di questo acido grasso essenziale così importante per la salute.
